Step-by-step guide

Guide: open your Stripe account and get paid for your tickets

On Vibenti, ticket money goes straight into your own Stripe account. Here is everything: how to open the account, how to connect it to Vibenti, how to link your bank account and how to withdraw your money. We only keep 1% per ticket sold.

Opening a Stripe account is free and there is no monthly fee. Stripe charges its per-transaction fee only when you sell.

1. What Stripe is and why you need it

Stripe is the payment gateway that charges your audience's cards. Vibenti never holds your money: every purchase is charged into your Stripe account and moves from there to your bank. That is why you need your own Stripe account before selling the first ticket.

  • You own the money and the Stripe account.
  • Vibenti automatically takes only its 1% commission on each sale.
  • Stripe also applies its own per-transaction fee (it depends on your country and card type).

2. What to have ready

Stripe is legally required to verify who gets paid. Have this ready and you will be done in about 10 minutes:

  • An email address and a mobile phone to receive the verification code.
  • A valid ID document (national ID or passport) and, if you sell as a company, your registration and tax details.
  • Your postal address and date of birth.
  • The bank account or IBAN where you want the money (it must be in your name or your company's).
  • A short description of what you sell: "event ticket sales" plus the page where they are sold.

3. Open the Stripe account from Vibenti

You do not need to go to Stripe's website on your own: doing it from the dashboard is faster because the account links itself.

  • Open your Vibenti dashboard and go to Settings.
  • Click "Connect Stripe". Stripe's official form opens.
  • Enter your email and verify the code sent by SMS or email.
  • Fill in your personal or company details and upload your ID if asked.
  • Enter the bank account where you want to receive payouts.
  • When you finish you are sent back to Vibenti and Settings shows "Stripe connected" in green.

If you already have a Stripe account, the same button lets you log in and use it instead of creating a new one.

4. Link your bank account

The bank account is where Stripe deposits your money. You can add it during signup or later from your Stripe dashboard.

  • Go to dashboard.stripe.com and log in.
  • Open Settings → Business → Bank accounts and currencies (or "Payouts" in the lighter dashboard).
  • Click "Add bank account" and enter the IBAN or account number and the account holder.
  • The account holder must match the Stripe account holder, otherwise Stripe will reject the transfers.
  • Mark one account as default if you have several or get paid in several currencies.

If you switch banks, add the new account first, set it as default and only then remove the old one, so no payout in progress is interrupted.

5. How to withdraw money from Stripe

Stripe sends your balance to your bank automatically, but you can change the schedule or push a manual payout.

  • Automatic payouts: by default Stripe sends your available balance daily or weekly depending on your country. Change it in Settings → Payouts → Payout schedule (daily, weekly, monthly or manual).
  • Manual payout: in manual mode, go to Balance → Pay out to bank account, enter the amount and confirm.
  • First payout: Stripe usually holds the first payment 7 to 14 days while it verifies your account. This is normal and happens only at the start.
  • After that, each sale becomes "available" in about 2-7 days depending on your country, and then moves to your bank.
  • Under Payments → Payouts you see each transfer with its date, amount and the sales it covers — handy for bookkeeping.

The amount landing in your bank is the ticket price minus Stripe's fee and minus Vibenti's 1%, which is already deducted at the moment of sale.

6. Check everything works before you sell

  • Vibenti Settings must show "Stripe connected".
  • In Stripe, the "Complete your profile" banner must be gone: while it is there, payouts can be held.
  • Publish your event and buy one cheap ticket for real to see the full flow.
  • Check that you receive the ticket email with its QR and that the sale shows up in your Stripe dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Stripe cost?

Opening and keeping the account is free. Stripe charges a percentage plus a fixed amount per card payment, varying by country and card type. Check the rates for your country at stripe.com/pricing.

Can I sell without connecting Stripe?

No. Without Stripe connected the checkout button stays disabled, because there would be nowhere to deposit your buyers' money.

Can Vibenti touch my money?

No. Money comes in and out of your own Stripe account. Vibenti only receives its 1% commission per ticket sold.

What about refunds?

You issue them from your Stripe dashboard on the specific payment. The amount goes back to the buyer's card and is deducted from your balance.

Stripe asks me for more documents, is that normal?

Yes. Above certain volumes Stripe asks you to verify identity or activity. Upload them quickly: until you do, payouts to your bank can be paused.
