How to sell event tickets online, step by step
Selling tickets online no longer needs a distributor or an annual contract. With a payout account and an event page you can start today, whatever you charge.
What you need before publishing
Three things: a clear description of the event (what, when, where), an account to receive the money, and a decision about capacity. Everything else is secondary.
If your event has several sessions or formats, decide early whether they are ticket types inside one event or separate events. For different dates, separate events work better: each page has its own date and link.
Pricing and ticket tiers
Avoid more than four tiers: every extra option adds hesitation at checkout and lowers conversion.
- A cheaper early-bird tier with limited stock to kick off sales and gauge interest.
- A general tier at your reference price.
- A concession tier (students, members, unemployed) if your audience expects one.
- A premium tier only if it delivers something real: early entry, reserved seat, meet-and-greet.
Getting paid without middlemen
What matters is that money reaches an account you control and that you know when. With Vibenti you connect your own Stripe account and each ticket payment lands there directly; we only keep our 1% commission at the moment of the sale.
Before publishing, check your payment provider's fees: on top of the platform commission, the gateway charges its own percentage per transaction.
Promotion: where to share the link
- The direct event link in your social bios and in every post.
- Your public organizer page, which lists all your active events.
- An email to people who bought before — the list that converts best.
- Local listings, neighbourhood media and city-specific groups.
On the day
Every buyer receives a ticket with a unique QR code. At the door you scan it from a phone and the system flags tickets that were already used or belong to another event. Bring a second charged device and, if you expect a queue, open two entry points.
