How to get paid for event tickets with Stripe
Collecting into your own account changes two things: the money is yours from minute one, and refunds are under your control.
What collecting into your own account means
Vibenti uses Stripe Connect: you create or link your Stripe account and every purchase is charged against it. The platform only deducts its commission at payment time. There is no intermediary account pooling your box office.
What Stripe asks for at onboarding
- Details of the person or company collecting the money and their tax ID.
- An identity document to verify ownership.
- The bank account where payouts should land.
- A business description — in this case, event ticket sales.
When the money arrives
Stripe sets the payout schedule based on your country and history; typically a few days after the charge. The first payouts can take a little longer while the account is verified.
Refunds and cancellations
If you cancel an event, you refund the original charge from your Stripe dashboard. Vibenti returns its commission on refunded tickets; gateway fees follow Stripe's own terms.
